As you all know my body is my tool of work, this is why I have to take care of it. Stretching and relaxing are the key to keep up with the season. As I don’t have a stable schedule due to the shows and tours, I have to use every moment to reconnect with my body.
Self-massages help to prevent injuries and perform at my peak because it relaxes the muscles, ligaments and tendons from any tension. It helps you to recover quicker because it helps with the blood flow in your muscles.
I’m going to show you a few tools that I use to take care of my muscles.
- To begin with, I’m going to introduce you to the Foam Roller.
This foam roller is designed to release the connective tissues of your body which are muscles, tendons and ligaments by pressing down your body weight against the roller. It can be painful at first but you’ll feel the results immediately. It helps to perform better as the muscles are relaxed so ready to use.
How to use it?
- Start by sitting down on the floor with the roller and place it beneath the area you want to massage.
- Put your body weight on the roller and allow it to move along over the target area. This motion will release your connective tissues
- Try to repeat this around 5 times.
- The Trigger Point Massage Ball
This ball is great to release knots and pain in your muscles. Very practical to transport, this is what I always take with me whenever I travel and go on tour.
You can use it for your foot, calf, glutes, psoas, upper back, arms, etc…
You have to press down your body weight on it and move side to side or in a circular motion.
- The Massage Roller Stick
I like to use this during my morning warm up, to wake up the muscles before my stretching. You can use it for any part of the body just by rolling the stick.
- The VeinoPlus
This electrostimulation medical device is a life saver during performances and hard rehearsals. It helps with venous insufficiency by stimulating your muscles to improve blood flow to help heal muscles, tendons, ligaments.
The VeinoPlus sends a signal to your muscles thanks to 2 electrodes glued on the skin of the calf. This makes it possible for the deepest muscles of the calf to contract which gives the most benefit.
After I use it, I feel brand new and full of energy. My legs don’t feel heavy or swollen. You can use it on the calves and I truly recommend it to everyone who practices some sport.
Whenever I have a break I like to use one of those tools. Self-massages are part of my daily routine and is a way to thank my body from the hard work I put it through.
Here I have showed you a few of my secrets to stay healthy. Of course there is a lot more. Let me know if you want to know something in particular.
Hope you enjoyed the reading and will try some of these techniques whenever you are in pain or feel like improving your performance.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions. Lot’s of love!!
